The West Country is famous for it's incredible ciders, crafted using traditional apple varieties, that are produced from our unique soils and climates; recipes that have been passed down through generations and methods that are centuries old. Our producers need you to help keep the taste of the West Country alive. Drink with purpose.
Sandford Orchards – Devon Red 4.5%
Our friend and expert cidermaker Barny Butterfield, is passionate about protecting Devon’s traditional cider methods. His award-winning ciders use naturally fermented apple juice from orchards within a 30-mile radius of their press in Crediton. Devon Red is a perfectly balanced, refreshing, medium cider named after the rich red soil that gives the orchards their distinctive quality. Pairs perfectly with charcuterie.
Ridge & Furrow – Devon Craft Cider 6%
Produced in small batches at Weeks Farm in Mutterton, Devon, using traditional Westcountry cider apple varieties from their own ridge and furrow patterned orchard that dates back to the 1890s. Handcrafted using the artisan method of ‘arrested fermentation’ induced by multiple rackings, the production of this cider is tailored to each year’s apple harvest. This fresh, slightly sparkling cider is naturally sweet, full flavoured and well-balanced; perfect for enjoying alongside a dessert such as apple pie.
Harry’s Cider – Dabinett 4.5%
Harry’s Cider is produced by Harry Fry and his son Tom on their family farm in Somerset. Each stage of the cider making process takes place on their farm; from growing the apples in their own orchards to pressing the fruit and maturing the cider. They use a single cider apple variety, Dabinett, to make this rich medium cider. The fermented juice produces a dry cider which is back sweetened with Dabinett apple juice, pairing perfectly with a delicious apple crumble and custard!
Courtney’s – Whimple Orchards Cider
Crafted by the Courtney family on their traditional West Country Cider Orchard in Whimple, Devon. All of the apples are grown, picked, pressed and bottled in the same location. This is a traditional, small batch cider; crafted from a distinctive blend of traditional cider apples from the original Whiteways orchard that was planted around100 years ago. This award-winning medium sweet cider is full bodied is delicious with fish.
