Originally, Hereford was known as the only area in the country that grows a good crop of quality perry pears. Now, it’s known as the home of Weston’s and Bulmers; two of the biggest cider makers in the UK.
Hereford is the only county to have obtained a European Protected Geographical Indicator (PGI) label; this shows customers that the product they are purchasing is truly authentic and has been crafted using traditional recipes and methods.
