After losing pubs, festivals and sports clubs, our brewers need bottle sales to keep their unique yeast alive. If this dies, so does the character that makes their beer distinguishable. Our producer's stories are echoed by small brewers across the country.

- Hook Norton Brewery, Hooky 3.5%
Sitting in its beautiful, mellow Cotswold Hills landscape, Hook Norton is a proudly independent and passionate family business that takes the very best of its 170 years of handcrafted brewing heritage to create a range of real ales for you to enjoy. Hooky is a classic session beer, a subtly balanced golden bitter with a hoppy, fruity nose and a fresh, malty palate. The perfect match to beautiful leg of lamb.
- Branscombe Brewery, Branoc Time Honoured Bitter 3.8%
Branscombe Vale Brewery have been crafting their ales in Seaton, Devon for over 25 years. The micro-brewery only brew 7,200 pints in each batch (compared to globalised brands, such as Fosters brew over 2.2 million pints a day), and continues to concentrate on converting West Country Barley and its own water into quality, easy drinking ales. Branoc has a nose of light caramel and wild berries and flavours of light malts and citrus fruits, leading to a strong bitter finish. Pairs perfectly with classic desserts such as bread and butter pudding.
- Yubberton Brewery, Organic Yubby Cotswold Best Bitter 4.0%
The Alexander family founded Yubberton Brewery in Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire after starting in the pub trade in 2007. After many nano brews and tasting sessions, Yubby bitter was born. Yubby is a copper coloured traditional bitter. Strong caramel malty notes carry through to a fruity hop character, with a pleasant bitter finish make this an excellent session beer.
- Exeter Brewery, Country Best 4.6%
Exeter Brewery have been brewing in Exeter since 2003. The micro-brewery uses organic hops to craft each of their amazing ales. County Best is crafted using the finest floor malted barley and premium quality hops. Floor malting is a niche artisanal practice where grain is spread evenly by hand - a process that many large breweries stopped using over 50 years ago, making this ale that little bit special! With aromas of fruit, a rich malty-sweet flavour and a bitter sweet finish, it pairs perfectly with sticky toffee pud.
- Salcombe Brewery, Devon Amber 3%
Situated in the Devon countryside looking towards the Salcombe Ria, this innovative new brewery was founded by John and Gerry Tiner in 2016. They handcraft a rich variety of mouth-watering beer at the eco-friendly and energy efficient brewery, using traditional methods and pure Devonian waters from their own borehole. Devon Amber is an easy drinking malt driven bitter, with a dry yet sweet aftertaste. Perfect with shellfish.
- Skinners Brewery, Betty Stogs 4%
Almost 25 years ago, armed only with his own surname, a chap called Steve Skinner dreamed of setting up a community brewery in Cornwall. On the banks of the Truro River, he and his family brewed a ground-breaking golden ale and named it after the tin-mining faeries of local myth; the Cornish Knocker. To this day, each beer is crafted by hand using traditionally made malt, Cornish water and Skinner’s yeast – with nothing going to waste, the spent grain is fed to their cattle and leftover hops are spread as fertiliser! Betty Stogs is copper-coloured with a light malty aroma, an even cedar taste and a sharp tang of bitter grapefruit. This ale has the strong character that compliments hearty dishes like stews and meat packed pasties.
- Butcombe Brewery, Butcombe Brewing Original Beer 4.5%
Founded by Simon Whitmore over 40 years ago in the old farm buildings at his family home in Butcombe, North Somerset. For the past 20 years, the brewery has been run by Guy Newell, Paul Horsley and family friends and is now based in Wrington, Bristol. Butcombe Original Beer was the first beer that the brewery perfected; made distinctive with its bitter, clean and refreshing dry flavour. The perfect companion to tender red meat, lending a peppery character to full meat flavours. It’s the best friend of stews and warming winter pies and is always welcome at a summer BBQ.
- Dorset Brewing Company, Dorset Knob 3.9%
Giles Smeeth founded the Dorset Brewing Company 25 years ago when he restored an 800-year-old brewing tradition to the Dorset port of Weymouth in the heard of the Jurassic Coast. This family brewery produces up to 1.5 million pints a year, which is less than globalised breweries produce in a day (with the likes of Fosters producing 2.2 million per day). Dorset Knob is a zesty, light amber ale with a malty character and a hoppy, floral nose. Perfect with roast beef.
- Yeovil Ales Brewery, Ruby 4.5%
Founded by father and son team, Dave and Rob Sherwood, 15 years ago, Yeovil Ales hand craft, brew and bottle their amazing beers in small batches in Lufton, Somerset. Each beer is crafted using Somerset water and whole hop cones, completely unfiltered and unfined, preserving the great taste. Ruby is a premium red bitter with rich malt depth. The smooth palate is pronounced by English hops, giving the trademark Yeovil Ales aromatic signature. Pairs perfectly with duck and stir-fries.
- Otter Brewery, Otter Bitter 3.6%
Fifth generation brewer, Patrick McCaig, has an incredible passion for beer and brewing and certainly knows a thing or two about producing the best! He uses the finest selection of handpicked ingredients, including their own yeast culture and water from the River Otter, to create his award-winning beers here, in the heart of Devon. Distinctly Devonshire, Otter Bitter is an easy drinking, session beer that instantly refreshes. Fruity notes and well-balanced malty flavours are tinged with a hint of bitterness, making this the perfect pairing for roasted ruby red beef.
- Red Rock Brewery, Red Rock Traditional English Bitter 4.2%
Red Rock is a family run brewery based on a farm in Teignmouth, South Devon. For almost 15 years, the team have been hand-brewing their award-winning ales and beers using their very own pure spring water and an artisan approach. Red Rock is a traditional best bitter brewed using the English Goldings hop, blended with Cascade and Eureka hops to create a wonderful bitter sweet, malty start with subtle roasted notes and a zesty hop finish. The perfect pair to a beautiful beef casserole.

Run by father and son duo, Will and Paul, Hunter’s Brewery have been crafting top quality ales in the heart of the Devon’s countryside for nearly 25 years. Pheasant Plucker is hopped with English Boadicea to give rich fruity taste; creating aromas of spicy hops, molasses and cocoa. The perfect match for a good hearty stew.
